Barcelona recorded a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Thursday night in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final clash.

An unfortunate Eder Militao own goal in the first half helped secure a win for Barcelona in the first leg of thus El Clasico tie.

Before the game, Xavi had claimed that Real Madrid were the favourites as they are the current Spanish and European champions.

Xavi insisted that Real Madrid are still the favourites, after the game.

“We have an advantage for the second leg, but we still have to compete very well. I think Real Madrid are very strong, and I still see them as the favourites,” Xavi said after Barcelona’s 1-0 win at Santiago Bernabeu.

“The attitude was great and we fought until the very end, which is positive.”

The second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final will be played at Camp Nou on April 5, and we  an only hope for the best from the Los Blancos.
