Fiorentina striker Luka Jovic has admitted he regrets leaving Eintracht Frankfurt for Real Madrid at the time he did.

Jovic left Eintracht Frankfurt for Madrid in the summer of 2019, for a fee of £54m.

Jovic was a hit in the German Bundesliga before moving to Madrid. But it never worked for the Serbian, who’s now 25.

Jovic has conceded his time with Real Madrid was a big disaster for his career.

“Everything went wrong from the start,” Jovic said in an interview with La Repubblica.

“I left Eintracht too early and when I arrived at Real Madrid, all eyes were on me. As a 21-year-old, it was difficult to find your way around the biggest club in the world.

“With the injuries, corona and the unfair pressure, it was a bitter experience.”
