Report: Real Madrid could sacrifice Brazilian star to sign Kylian Mbappe

Some reports are claiming that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez could ‘sacrifice’ star man Vinicius Junior to fund a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Mbappe was to join Madrid last summer as a free agent, but ended up signing a new two-year contract with PSG, with the option of a third year.

The Los Blancos will need to pay a huge transfer fee to land Mbappe next summer, or wait for extra two years to sign him for free.

Vinicius is now being seen as one who can help the deal.

The Brazilian arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Flamengo in July 2018 and has now turned into a key player for the Los Blancos, scoring 54 goals and registering 52 assists in 208 appearances across all competitions.

This season, the 22-year-old is currently Real Madrid’s joint-top scorer this season along with Karim Benzema, netting 18 goals in 38 games.

Reports from Spain claim Florentino Perez is contemplating whether to ‘sacrifice’ Vinicius and recoup a big-money transfer fee for the winger this summer, as opposed to letting him leave for free when his contract expires in June 2024.

For Mbappe, the Frenchman is now contemplating his future after another disappointing Champions League round-of-16 exit.
