Real Madrid have the advantage going into the second leg of the Champions League tie against Liverpool.

The Los Blancos defeated Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield last time out, and will host Liverpool on Wednesday for the second leg clash.

Carlo Ancelotti has pointed out to last season’s quarter-final tie against Chelsea, where the Blues raced to a three-goal lead before a late goal forced the tie into extra time, and Real Madrid won 5-4 on aggregate.

“We have had the experience of last year against Chelsea,” Ancelotti told reporters on Saturday, when speaking about his side’s advantage ahead of facing Liverpool.

“We had a three-goal advantage, that is why we are and were favourites, but the other fact is that we have to play another 90 minutes.

“To do that, we have to play with the same attitude as the first leg. We have the advantage, but we can’t think of managing the game and the result that we had, we have to play 90 minutes at the top.”
