Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is in the form of his life for boyhood club Real Madrid.

Ceballos is having a good second half of the season, and has been one of Real Madrid’s best players so far.

The 26-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Los Blancos, and it’s yet to be seen if he’d be a Real Madrid player next season.

Ceballos has however insisted that he wants to be judged by his football.

“I just want to play football and be judged by my level on the pitch. I don’t want a new contract if I don’t deserve it – or go to another club if I don’t deserve it either. I want to enjoy what I do,” Dani Ceballos has told Jorge Valdano.

“The last three months? I want to play them, and when I’m done, to meet with my agent, my family and value what’s best for me. But I don’t want the best contract. I want the people, the board and the club to decide if I am good enough for them.

“Now, the most important thing is to focus on my everyday work, taking advantage of whatever game time I receive and showing people that I want to continue playing for Real Madrid.

“Modric has to be my example. I have been good for two months, but Luka and Toni [Kroos] have been at the highest level for 10 or 12 years.”
