Real Madrid have a difficult tie against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Sunday.
For the Blancos, it’s an opportunity to reduce the gap to 6 points, as we approach the end of the season.
Vinicius Jr has been one of Madrid’s main men this season, but he’d be up against a Barca side that’s defensively strong.
No player has scored from open play against Barça at Camp Nou in La Liga this season.
Ancelotti has hinted that Vinicius may be given a free role against Barça.
“He’s had more difficulties than in other games, but Vini is always Vini, his mobility can help him get best (from himself) in tomorrow’s game,” Ancelotti told a news conference Saturday.
“I’m thinking of putting him on the right, let’s see. He can play on the right, Vinicius.”
Ancelotti later said he was joking about using Vinicius on the right flank, but hinted that the Brazilian may play a free role.
He added: “Obviously that wasn’t serious, but mobility could be important, not having a fixed reference point. Speaking generally, against a forward that’s another problem for a defence.
“Vini will play on the left, with more mobility.”
