Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric set a massive record as Croatia played out a 1-1 draw with Wales.

At 37 years and 197 days, Luka Modric became the oldest-ever player to feature for Croatia.

The veteran Real Madrid midfielder will extend this record on March 28 when Croatia face Turkey.

Meanwhile, Modric has again insisted that he wants to remain at Real Madrid, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

He said: “Everyone keeps asking me the same questions, I think I’m getting bored delivering the same answers. You know my wish and my hope and that is to stay in Real Madrid.

“I know you all have to write some stuff and I can’t to anything about that, but I’ve said it a hundred times and I will repeat it now. I want to stay in Real Madrid.”
