Marcelo joined Real Madrid in 2005, and during his time in the Spanish capital, the Brazilian won it all.

Marcelo is Real Madrid’s most decorated player, having won 25 trophies for Los Blancos, including five Champions League titles and six La Liga titles.

After leaving the club during last summer’s transfer window, Marcelo joined Greek side Olympiacos.

But the 34-year-old was unable to settle at the Super League Greece club, and terminated his contract in February 2023.

Marcelo however chose to return to his boyhood club Fluminense in Brazil, and he has hailed it as homecoming for him.

Marcelo has revealed that he wants to win the Copa Libertadores with his boyhood club.

He said: “The idea of wearing that shirt again already excites me a lot and I’m looking forward to playing in the Copa Libertadores, which I’ve never done.

“I really want to get there and help Fluminense reach a final and win the Libertadores.”
