Clubs that wish to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund this summer must be willing to work hard to convince the 19-year-old to join them, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City are the three main clubs vying for the teenager’s signature, although, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United cannot be completely ruled out of the race.
Claims have previously been made regarding what it would take to get the midfielder to leave Dortmund in the summer, with some outlets suggesting it could come down to the spending power of interested parties.
However, in a new piece for CaughtOffside, transfer specialist, Romano, revealed that it wasn’t just about money, but also about the type of project each club will present to him, and how appealing he would find them.
“I’m not aware of any spending cap honestly when it comes to what Real Madrid will be prepared to pay for Jude Bellingham,” the Italian wrote.
“It’s about convincing Bellingham — that is the crucial point for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City.”
Liverpool have been following Bellingham for a while now, and have already shown an appealing project to his father, Mark. Real Madrid have also done some groundwork of their own, as it’s been reported that they held positive meetings with Bellingham’s team in London.
Ultimately, it will come down to what project the England international sees himself fitting into, and it’s looking like the Real Madrid factor may come in to play to sign the highly-rated teenager.
