Real Madrid’s loanee Reinier has been in the bad news of late, as he’s currently on loan with Girona.
The Brazilian was sent off in Girona’s latest match against Espanyol despite not even being on the pitch.
According to El Chiringuito TV, the Brazilian was shown the red card for telling the assistant referee that he was “very, very bad” while warming up on the sidelines.
The winger will now miss the upcoming match against Barcelona.
Girona’s coach Michel was very displeased with the action of Reinier, who will now face sanctions from his club.
“Reinier has to improve in this regard. I was going to sub him in because he is a good player and can make the difference but he made a mistake. We will sanction him at the club,” he said.
“We don’t know if we will have Aleix Garcia for the game at Camp Nou, Yangel Herrera is injured and we needed Reinier for the match because he’s an important player for us.
“Often times the players do not understand that 25 minutes of good football from them can win us the match. He will be out for one or two games now, he made a mistake and needs to correct it. The referee and assistant had already told us that he was protesting on the sidelines.”
Reinier has made 10 appearances for Girona and has scored one goal.
Barcelona’s next league game is a home La Liga clash against Girona on April 10, and Reinier will miss that tie.
