Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski are easily two of the best strikers in the world, and they have maintained a high level until this age – Lewandowski 34, and Benzema 35.

There have often been comparisons drawn from fans and the media about who the better striker is.

Lewandowski has scored 17 goals in 23 league fixtures, and has assisted 6.

Benzema has had to miss over 10 games this season due to injury. He has, however, racked up 14 league goals in 17 appearances, along with three assists.

Xavi admitted they are two of the best in the world, but refused to choose who is better.

Speaking about the duo, Xavi said: “With [Karim] Benzema and [Robert] Lewandowski, we’re speaking of two out of the three best strikers in the world right now.

“They’re similar, but Benzema joins the midfield more. I would say that Robert understands our game perfectly, and he’s more physical.”

Both players are in hot form ahead of the El Clasico tie on Wednesday, with Benzema scoring a hat-trick and Lewandowski scoring a brace over the weekend.
