Tonight’s Copa del Rey semi-final clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid is indeed the final before the final.
The first Copa del Rey semi-final tie has already been decided, as Osasuna defeated Athletic Bilbao 2-1 on aggregate to go through to the final.
A win for Real Madrid against Barcelona will see the Los Blancos play Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final, if they do beat Barcelona.
The final is scheduled for May 6 at La Cartuja in Seville.
Osasuna has never won the Copa del Rey, but they were runner-ups in 2004/05 when they lost the final to Real Betis.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is confident that his team can turn the situation around.
Speaking after the 6-0 drubbing of Valladolid, Ancelotti said: “We’re 100% ready. There are no doubts in our minds and we’re only thinking about winning the game on Wednesday.”
