‘Football doesn’t belong to you’ – UEFA president slams Real Madrid

UEFA president Alexander Ceferin has again taken a fresh dig at Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus following their involvement in the European Super League.

Ceferin who was only re-elected president this week, has said that football belongs to everyone and not only those three clubs.

He said: “Football does not belong to anyone, in fact it belongs to all of us.

“The general interest must be above the individual interest of three clubs, two financiers and their spokesman.”

Ceferin also said: “Those who promoted that project say they want to save football. The Super League has become a Little Red Riding Hood character, a wolf disguised as a grandmother. Who are they fooling? Nobody. They are cartels over meritocracy and democracy. It’s money over trophies.”
