La Liga president Javier Tebas has said that the La Liga will investigate the clash between Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde and Villarreal’s Alex Baena.

Valverde is said to have punched Baena in the parking lot after the game between Real Madrid and Villarreal, after being provoked by the Villarreal player.

The Real midfielder is under police investigation following the incident.

Tebas said of the incident: “It is still an incident and an attack that occurs in the car parks of a LaLiga stadium.

“I think that the provocation is a mitigation, it is never the justification of the fact. That must be made very clear.

“Of course it is a reprehensible action. We cannot compare an aggression with the possible provocation.”
