It was another fine performance from Real Madrid, as Carlo Ancelotti rotated his side to face Cadiz away from home.
Real Madrid won the tie 2-0, with goals from Nacho Fernandez and Marco Asensio coming in the final 20 minutes of the game, to seal another La Liga victory for the Los Blancos.
Carlo Ancelotti was pleased with his side’s display, and admitted he has a problem, due to an abundance of talent in the squad, as some fringe players also performed well against Cadiz.
Ancelotti said, “I’m pleased with the way the team played. It was a good performance at an important moment in the season.
“The players’ attitude on the pitch was outstanding, despite it not being easy to prepare for.
“These games create more doubts for me for Tuesday because a lot of players have played well. Tchouameni, Asensio, Ceballos, Karim as always. We have doubts but also the peace of mind of having a lot of options on the bench.
“We’re doing really well and you can see that on the pitch. The team has energy and the fact that we have a 35-year-old who had a fantastic game on Wednesday night and three days later he put on another great display is a sign that the team’s doing well.
“We could do better in the league, but we suffered a lot in January. We dropped points that give us a disadvantage at the moment.”
