Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde may be in hot trouble for punching Villarreal player Alex Baena.
Following Madrid’s defeat to Villarreal, Valverde and Villarreal’s Alex Baena had a row in the parking lot, which ended in Valverde punching the Villarreal man.
According to The Athletic, Valverde could face a lengthy ban.
The Spanish FA’s competition committee will investigate the incident from Wednesday and could hand him a domestic ban if found guilty.
Reports claim the ban could range from four games to up to 12 matches!
Valverde may eventually face the ban next season, with the case unlikely to be resolved before next month.
So we would expect Valverde to feature in the Copa Del Rey final against Osasuna.
