Real Madrid are unhappy with a major decision made by UEFA ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg with Manchester City.

Real Madrid will host the first-leg against City on Tuesday 9 May at the Santiago Bernabéu.

However, Real Madrid is upset with the decision due to the Copa del Rey final being played three days earlier – with only 71 hours between kick-off in the two matches.

The Los Blancos had appealed for the date to be shifted, but Madrid have seen an appeal rejected for change the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Manchester City.

After losing the Spanish Super Cup to Barcelona in Riyadh, the Copa final against Osasuna represents an opportunity for Real Madrid  to win their first domestic trophy of the season.

Real Madrid remains unhappy with UEFA’s decision, as it gives Manchester City the advantage heading into this crucial game.
