Barcelona couldn’t keep the Argentine due to their financial struggles.

However, Barça president Joan Laporta has vowed to do everything possible to see Messi return to Barcelona.

When asked about this, Carlo Ancelotti admitted it would be good for Spanish football.

He said: “That is not a question for me but I like him as a player, it could be good for Spanish football.”
