Girona striker Taty Castellanos was in hot form as he scored four goals in Girona’s 4-2 win over Real Madrid.

It was a shocking performance from the Los Blancos, and Castellanos set a record for himself in the process.

Castellanos’ four goals have seen him become the first player to do so in La Liga history since December 1947 when Esteban Echevarria scored five goals in Real Oviedo’s 7-1 win over Real Madrid.

In all competitions, the last player to score four against Real Madrid was Robert Lewandowski, while as a Borussia Dortmund player. Lewandowski scored all four goals for Dortmund as they beat Real Madrid 4-0 in the Champions League semi-final.

The only other player to have scored four against Real Madrid is Diego Milito. Milito scored four goals for Real Zaragoza as they beat Madrid 6-1 win in the first leg of the 2005/06 Copa Del Rey semi-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti would be hoping this shambolic defending doesn’t repeat itself.
