Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is a doubt for some upcoming games due to injury.

The 37-year-old Croatian playmaker is suffering from a thigh problem which could keep him out for at least two weeks.

Modric was missing against Almeria, and would also miss the tie against Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is hoping to have Modric back in time for the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City, with Modric also expected to miss the Cup final against Osasuna.

Ancelotti said: “He had an injury in the game at Girona [on Tuesday] and is out of action.”

Ancelotti added: “We’re waiting to see how he progresses and I don’t know if he will make the cup final.

“Let’s hope we have him back for the remaining games, which are important.”
