Barcelona are edging closer and closer to being confirmed as La Liga champions for the 2022-23 season.

Barcelona already have an 11-point lead over Real Madrid, and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his rivals deserve to win the league this season, if they eventually win it.

“If Barcelona win La Liga it is because they deserve it,” Carlo Ancelotti said during a recent press conference.

“I always point out the merit of the rival. Barcelona has scored a lot of points and has merit.”

Xavi has responded to Carlo Ancelotti’s comment, and also agreed that there’s not an 11-point difference in quality between the two sides.

“Ancelotti is right, there is not an 11-point difference if you look at the quality of Barcelona and Madrid,” Xavi said.

“I take it as a great compliment, it says a lot about what we are doing this season in La Liga.

“Football professionals know that the league is won by the best and the most solvent team.

“The knockout competitions are more unfair. I thank Ancelotti for his words.”
