Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has told his manager Carlo Ancelotti that he feels more comfortable playing on the left side of midfield.

Carlo Ancelotti deployed Ceballos on the left side of midfield against Almeria, and he had a good game playing on the same flank with Vinicius Junior.

Ceballos said: “I feel more comfortable on the left because I have a much wider periphery of the pitch.

“Playing on the right is a bit more complicated, but that’s what I have to do now. I hope to achieve some continuity. It’s up to the coach to decide, but my objective is to get more playing time and that when he needs me he knows that he has a guarantee in this position.

“I’m very happy with the confidence he’s placed in me.”

Ceballos has said he has a good understanding with Vinicius: “I understand him very well. We are very close and just by looking at each other I know when he’s going to go into space or when he wants it to feet. That’s fundamental.”

On replacing Luka Modric, Ceballos added: “It’s a pity about Modrić’s injury but there is one more place in midfield and hopefully I can play in the next few games, which would be great for me.”
