Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema has been the go-to man for goals for Real Madrid.

At 35, the Frenchman has been the club’s leading striker, and he’s still rated as the best number 9 in the world.

However, Carlo Ancelotti has recently revealed that the club must plan for this position soon.

“In the future project for Real Madrid, we will have to sign a number nine,” Carlo Ancelotti has told the media.

“I say this because Karim Benzema is old — even though, of course, he’s doing very well. We’ve never had any kind of problem with him.”

Reports have it that Real Madrid could trigger Erling Haaland’s release clause in 2024, and Kylian Mbappe is still on the club’s radar.
