Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao will be unavailable for the Los Blancos Ancelotti for the first leg of the Champions League clash with Manchester City through suspension.

Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba would be tasked with stopping in-form Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney believes Rudiger will struggle to handle the speed and power of Haaland.

Rooney told The Times: “He’s a great competitor who likes one-on-one play.

“Still, I don’t think the German defender can handle Haaland, to be honest.

“With Haaland’s speed and power, and his movement in the box, I don’t think any centre-back in the world can stop him.”
