Antonio Rudiger was tasked with marking Erling Haaland in Tuesday night’s Champions League clash.
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney had claimed that Haaland would make a mess of Rudiger, but it wasn’t to be.
Haaland didn’t have a sniff of goal all game, and Rudiger did a fine job.
Carlo Ancelotti praised Rudiger for his fine performance against Haaland.
On defensive performance and Antonio Rudiger keeping Erling Haaland quiet, Ancelotti said: “Defensively we were good. Rudiger against Haaland did well and the midfield had control.
“The performance was good and we are happy. We have strong motivation for the next game.”
