Real Madrid and Manchester City played out a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday night.

Both sides will battle it out in the semi-final second leg clash next week, but Carlo Ancelotti believes his side should hold the advantage ahead of this tie.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti believes Manchester City’s goal against Real Madrid in the 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu should have been disallowed.

Ancelotti said: “The ball was off the pitch [in the build-up to Manchester City’s goal]. That’s it. Technology said it. I don’t understand why VAR didn’t check it. The referee didn’t pay attention to many things tonight.”

Ancelotti does have a point here.
