Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has hailed the performance of Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Rudiger was tasked with keeping Erling Haaland quiet, and he did his job to perfection.

Haaland was quiet all game, and Rudiger never game him the space to cause problems.

Ancelotti said: “Toni Rudiger… excellent. Top performance. He was very good, he’s a player with great experience, quality.

“It wasn’t easy but he played very well. I’m so happy with Toni.”
