Former Celtic midfielder Neil Lennon believes Real Madrid did a good job on Manchester City striker Erling Haaland during the 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Lennon told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Madrid did a great job on Erling Haaland tonight, he was pretty quiet and didn’t get a lot of service. The Madrid front three are always dangerous. Man City’s midfield particularly in the first half dominated the game.

“It ebbed and flowed and you just couldn’t take your eyes off it to see which way the game was going to go.”

Despite Man City’s large possession of the ball, they barely posed a threat against Real Madrid’s defence.
