Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Eden Hazard for his performance against Getafe on Saturday.
It wasn’t an easy game for the Belgian who was getting his first La Liga start of the year.
Hazard lasted 60 minutes on the pitch before being subbed off.
For Ancelotti, the Belgian did okay. Ancelotti also hailed Ferland Mendy who has just returned from injury.
Carlo Ancelotti said: “They’ve (Ferland Mendy and Eden Hazard) both done well. They lack match fitness. Mendy was planned to play 45 minutes.
“He felt good and could have continued, but I preferred to take him off. Hazard too, 60 minutes for a player who hasn’t played much was enough. He contributed to the team.”
Explaining why Antonio Rudiger didn’t get to feature, Ancelotti said: “He was tired and I rested him to keep him fresh for Wednesday.
“He will play. I don’t know how many minutes, but he will play. He’ll start the game.”
The Real Madrid boss also reserved praise for the medical staff and fitness coaches.
He concluded: “We have a very high standard of medical staff and fitness coaches. They all contribute and we also have extremely serious and professional players.
“We solved the problems fairly well thanks to everyone’s efforts. We are a very well organised group.”
