Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti plans to bench Brazilian forward Rodrygo against Manchester City on Wednesday, according to a report by Marca.
The report claims Ancelotti felt that he lacked a ‘game changer’ in the first-leg, which ended as a 1-1 draw and intends to use Rodrygo as a game changer against Manchester City.
Ancelotti also intends to set up Real Madrid in a 4-4-2 formation, with Fede Valverde operating in that right midfield role.
Real Madrid will take the counter-attacking approach and defend deep to cope up with City’s pressure.
Ancelotti intends to bring on Rodrygo in the second half against a tired Manchester City team.
We’d see how this goes on Wednesday.
