La Liga side demand La Liga to take three points away from Real Madrid

Getafe have appealed to La Liga following their defeat to Real Madrid.

Getafe lost 1-0 to Real Madrid over the weekend, but have now lodged a complaint with La Liga – citing an issue with Real’s substitutions during the game.

According to a report by Marca, says the complaint has been filed with the Competition Committee.

The reason for Getafe’s complaint focuses on the irregularities committed during the change of Eduardo Camavinga for Álvaro Odriozola. At first, coach Carlo Ancelotti had indicated Marco Asensio as the player to be replaced. Odriozola jumped onto the field before the Spaniard left it (first offence, as the substitute cannot enter the field before the substituted one leaves it).

But when Asensio was going to cross the touchline, he was stopped to modify the change: Camavinga was hurt from a blow to the knee and Ancelotti decided that the Frenchman should be replaced. Camavinga left the field when Odriozola was already inside it (second offense).

And if it was taken for granted that Asensio had not yet been substituted, it is implicitly admitted that for a few seconds (in which the ball was not in play, which makes the fact a simple anecdote) they had twelve players on the field, that would constitute the third offence.

Getafe would be awarded the game 3-0 if La Liga agree to their plea.
