Real Madrid suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat away to Manchester City, as the Los Blancos were sent packing from the Champions League semi-final.

Real Madrid failed to compete at the Etihad Stadium, and the team looked clueless in this tie.

Ancelotti’s future has been questioned after this game, but the Real Madrid boss has insisted his immediate future is sure.

“No one doubts me. I think the president was very clear 15 days ago,” Carlo Ancelotti said after the game.

“Next season I will be here to fight to win another Champions League.”

Real Madrid’s chairman Emilio Butragueno, has backed Ancelotti to finish off his contract with the club.

Butragueno told the media after the game: “Ancelotti has a contract and has won everything with us. It’s a bad night, very sad, and that’s it.”

Ancelotti has one more year left in his deal with Real Madrid, which will expire in the summer of 2024.
