The season is coming to an end, but for Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, they’ve won every trophy they can, and the season is already over for both sides.

Spanish pundit David Reverter has claimed that Barcelona have had a much better season than Real Madrid this season.

Real Madrid were knocked out of the Champions League semi-final by Manchester City, and thus ended their hopes of winning the Champions League.

Barcelona beat Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup earlier this year and secured La Liga title on Sunday after beating Espanyol 4-2.

Real Madrid have however won the UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup and Copa Del Rey this year.

“It can already be said that Barca has, objectively, had a better season than Madrid,” Reverter wrote on Twitter.

“For me, with a worse squad too. Xavi Hernández is unquestionably the winner in Spain this year.

“He [Xavi] has restored hope to Barça fans and has toyed with the whites in Spain,” the pundit concludes.
