Vinicius Junior was short of words after the 4-0 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

According to the Brazilian, the game was difficult, and it was not for a lack of desire.

“Attitude has not been lacking, it was very difficult against a great team at home. It’s very difficult,” he told Marca.

Vinicius then warned that his side must learn their lessons from such a performance.

Vinicius said: “Today has been a very difficult day for us but we have to take the lessons, to learn from this game.

“This cannot happen again next season. Reaching the semi-finals is very difficult.”

The Brazilian star then backed Carlo Ancelotti to stay at the club next season, despite rumours that he could be sacked.

“Of course he has to continue,” he said.

“We are very sad, it is a game that we wanted to win but we could not.”
