Real Madrid suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday.
A first-half double by Bernardo Silva killed the team’s fighting spirit, and second half goals from Manuel Akanji and Julián Álvarez made the defeat disastrous.
Vinicius Junior was short of words after the 4-0 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
According to the Brazilian, the game was lost because his side didn’t play according to the tactical instructions from the manager, Carlo Ancelotti.
“[We lost because] we have not managed to do what [Carlo] Ancelotti has asked us,” El Chiringuito quoted him as saying.
Vinicius then warned that his side must learn their lessons from such a poor performance.
Vinicius said: “Today has been a very difficult day for us but we have to take the lessons, to learn from this game.
“This cannot happen again next season. Reaching the semi-finals is very difficult.”
