Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois should be a Ballon d’Or.
Karim Benzema won the Ballon d’Or for last year after a fine season in which he was top scorer as the Los Blancos won the Champions League and the La Liga.
Guardiola believes Courtois also deserved to win the Ballon d’Or, after his exploits in goal.
“Last year they gave the Ballon d’Or to Benzema, but had it been Courtois, it would’ve also been deserved,” Pep Guardiola told Movistar.
Courtois ended up 7th in the Ballon d’Or ranking. The Belgian was the only one who performed well in the defeat to Manchester City.
