Time after time, Vinicius Jr has suffered racial abuse in the La Liga, and the league hasn’t done much to protect the young Brazilian.
The 22-year-old is one of the most exciting players in the world, and for Carlo Ancelotti, he’s currently the best.
Vinicius seems to love Real Madrid, but reports now claim that his love for the La Liga may now be fading.
The racial abuse he suffered against Valencia may just be the last straw for Vinicius.
Vinicius posted an emotional statement on social media after the game against Valencia.
The Brazilian blamed La Liga for not doing enough to fight racism, and reports now have it that he may be considering his future in Spain.
The 22-year-old Brazil forward ended his social media message on Sunday by writing: “I am strong and I will go all the way against the racists. Even if it’s far from here.”
The Athletic has reported that they contacted Vinicius Jr’s staff, asking if his statement meant he was contemplating an exit from La Liga and Madrid.
According to The Athletic, sources from his entourage, who asked not to be named in order to protect their position, replied: “Yes. When you have to fight on your own…”
Another such source was even more categorical: “Until today, there was no chance. From today, yes.”
It would really be a disaster for the La Liga if Vinicius leaves because of racism.
