
Barcelona lost 3-1 to Valladolid away from home, as Xavi’s side has now lost back to back games since winning the La Liga.
However, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski managed to get a consolation goal late in the game.
Xavi has admitted he wants to help Robert Lewandowski to win the Pichichi, while goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is keen on breaking a clean sheet record.
Xavi has that that Barça must help the two players achieve their aim.
“Zamora is the objective for Ter Stegen is clear and we want to help him. Just like Lewandowski, the good news is that he scored today,” Xavi told reporters after the defeat to Valladolid
“Having achieved the collective goals, now we only have individual goals left [to help Ter Stegen and Lewandowski]”
“We carry a huge workload throughout the season, in a World Cup year as well… We have met the objectives of the Super Cup and La Liga. I understand the downturn, but the impressions saddens me. We have to improve.”
Robert Lewandowski has scored 23 La Liga goals – 6 more than Karim Benzema.
