Real Madrid returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home win over Rayo Vallecano.

It was indeed important to get the three points after losing to Valencia on Sunday.

Karim Benzema scored a first-half goal to put Madrid in front.

It wasn’t a smooth performance from the Los Blancos, as it seemed they lacked enough motivation to do the job.

With the game nearing its end, former Real Madrid player Raul de Tomas scored in the 84th minute to give Real Madrid a late scare.

Rodrygo, who seemed to be the most exciting player on the pitch restored the lead five minutes later.

Carlo Ancelotti would be hoping to at least finish the season in second place.
