According to reports, Ferland Mendy, whose contract with Real Madrid runs until 2026, has been deemed surplus to the club’s requirements.

Previous reports had claimed that Real Madrid have informed the player’s agent that he could find a new club in the summer.

Ferland Mendy has been struggling with recurring injury problems this season, and Eduardo Camavinga has been forced to replace him in the starting eleven.

Ancelotti has debunked the rumours about Mendy’s future, claiming he wants the defender to stay.

“Of course, we have missed him [Ferland Mendy] this season. He was very good defensively last season. I want him to stay,” Carlo Ancelotti has said.

“We have been forced to use Camavinga at left-back while we could use him in midfield instead.”

Mendy has made 26 appearances for the club this season.
