Real Madrid are about to sign Roberto Firmino in a surprise transfer, according to multiple reports.

The Brazilian is edging closer to the end of his contract with Liverpool, after eight memorable years with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Firmino played his last home game for Liverpool against Aston Villa on Saturday, and scored Liverpool’s only goal during the 1-1 draw.

Madrid are believed to be eyeing the 31-year-old as a backup for the ageing Karim Benzema.

Sport also claims that a meeting has already taken place between the Spanish giants and Firmino.
