Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni had a brilliant start to the season, as he was easily the side’s  best midfielder at the start of the campaign.

Tchouameni maintained his great form until the World Cup, but hasn’t reached those heights since he returned from Qatar.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has however revealed his delight with what he has seen from Aurelien Tchouameni, after he replaced Casemiro.

Ancelotti said, “He surprised us all in the first part of the season because he is very young and he comes to Real Madrid. He assumed the position of a legend like Casemiro.

“After the World Cup he lowered the level. He is not the third option, although Kroos and Camavinga have played. Of the last nine league games he has played eight.

“He is a very important piece for the future.”
