Real Madrid star Marco Asensio is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old is very experienced, but has chosen not to renew his contract, amid interest from PSG and some Premier League sides.

Asensio has won three Champions League titles, 3 La Liga titles plus four Club World Cups. As well as three European Super Cups, three Spanish Super Cups and one Copa del Rey.

The last time Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Marco Asensio’s future, the Italian admitted he wasn’t certain of what Asensio will decide on his future.

Ancelotti had said: “He is looking sharp. I don’t yet know if he’s going to stay or not.

“He has a contract and I’m not overly concerned because we have some very important challenges this season and he is contributing. He will make the right decision together with the club.”

Talks with Real Madrid over a new contract began in December but have failed, and Asensio may now be on his way to Paris.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with the Real Madrid star.

PSG have been tipped to win the race for Asensio, and the good relationship between Jorge Mendes, Asensio’s agent, and Luis Campos, the French sides’s sporting director, has been key in the negotiations, a report by ESPN claims.

There are four main reasons Asensio has decided against staying on at Real Madrid.

He believes he should make the starting eleven at Real Madrid more often. He is also unhappy about the little game time he receives in big matches.

Marco Asensio wants to feel ‘important’ at the club, but doesn’t. He also wants to be fully prepared for Euro 2024.
