In an attack that didn’t have Vinicius Jr, Karim Benzema and even Marco Asensio, Rodrygo stood out as the only recognised forward player against Sevilla, and made sure his presence counted.
Sevilla got off to a quick start against the Los Blancos, and took the lead in the third minute, courtesy of Rafa Mir.
Rodrygo who held the line provided all the dangerous moments for Real Madrid. The 22-year-old bent in a free-kick from 25 yards into the net, to seal Madrid’s equaliser just before the half hour mark.
Just before the 70th minute, Rodrygo took advantage of a quick break to put Madrid in front.
The Brazilian youngster is Real Madrid’s in-form man, with 5 goals in his last 7 matches.
He also registered his 18th and 19th goals of the season against Sevilla. His overall tally stands at 30 goal contributions.
Last season, he bagged ten goals less. Back in the 2020/21 it was just 10GA.
It can only get better for Rodrygo, who’s improving with each game. Vinicius Jr may be collecting the shine now, but watch out for Rodrygo, who is silently making a name for himself.
