Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has won the ‘Best Foreign Player’ award in the 2022/23 Trophees UNFP du football ceremony.

Awards in this ceremony are given out to the best performers in the Ligue 1 season, and French players outside France are recognised too.

Benzema who had a good individual season, beat the likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Paul Pogba, Randal Kolo Muani and Mike Maignan to the trophy.

Kylian Mbappe was named as the best player of the Ligue 1 campaign after helping PSG win the title.

Benzema has scored 30 goals and provided six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season.
