Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has told defender Nacho Fernandez that his future is in his hands.
Nacho’s contract will wind up at the end of next month, and he’s yet to sign a new deal.
Speaking recently on the defender’s future, Ancelotti said: “His future is in his hands. He can stay here and continue to have everyone’s support.
“We know what he contributes, which is an awful lot. With everything he’s brought us in the past, we know exactly what he offers. I think the club has spoken with him to renew his contract and he is weighing up the best solution.
“The season ends in a week and everything will get cleared up.”
Nacho believes he should a regular in the centre-back position, but finds himself below Eder Militao, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger in the pecking order.
