Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has reacted to news that he may no longer be a Real Madrid player, and will make a switch to Saudi Arabia, amid reports of a juicy offer from the oil-rich nation.
“Speak to Madrid fans? Speak about what? Why speak about the future if I’m in Madrid… ” Karim Benzema has said at the Marca Leyenda event, via Fabrizio Romano.
“Who’s speaking is Internet, and reality is NOT Internet.
“At the moment, I’m still here. We have a game on Sunday.”
Benzema also revealed that he’s proud of the career he has had at Real Madrid.
He said: “I’m very proud of my career. I remember when I signed here, I was a kid, with a dream to play for Real Madrid. Real Madrid are the best club in the world. I dreamed of playing here.
“When I signed for this club, I was a boy, 21 years old. I was only thinking about enjoying and winning trophies and in the end, I see that I have won a lot with Real Madrid.
“I know how much Real Madrid fans love me. I feel that when I’m on the pitch. I give my best for them, always. I always say that we play with eleven on the pitch but also with crucial factor, Real Madrid fans.”
