Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he’s in need of a rest, following an eventful season as Real Madrid manager.

According to Ancelotti, he barely sleeps before games, and will use the holiday period to enjoy a good rest.

Carlo Ancelotti was asked what he’d be thinking of, now that the season is over.

He responded: “I’ll be thinking that I need a rest. It’s been a very long season because motivating and preparing a team every three days is very challenging.

“I don’t sleep well on the day of the game and it’s been a very long season. The club is in good hands and we’ve already talked about what needs to be done.”

Ancelotti also gave his assessment of the season, as he backed Real Madrid to bounce back stronger for next season.

He said: “It has been a very demanding season with the Spanish Super Cup in January, the Club World Cup in February, the fight for the league title. All this has cost us points in the league.

“The season has been good and I’m convinced that next year will be better. Now we’ll come back on 10 July with even more motivation, enthusiasm and desire.”
