Karim Benzema said his farewell to Real Madrid fans in the final game of the season, over the weekend.

The 35-year-old leaves Real Madrid as a club legend, and the Los Blancos tried to keep him for an extra year, but it didn’t work out. No thanks to a fat paycheck from Saudi Arabia.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Benzema has done his paperwork with Saudi side Al Ittihad.

“Karim Benzema has signed the main part of the documents to become a new Al Ittihad player joining the Saudi league — here we go!” Fabrizio Romano reported.

Benzema’s deal is a two-year contract with an option to extend it by a further year.

Benzema will earn at least €100m per season. Including bonuses, image rights and add-ons, Karim could bag up to €400m before his time in Saudi is over.
