Confirmed: Real Madrid reach agreement for €100m player

England international Jude Bellingham is set to become Real Madrid’s first signing of the summer.

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Jude Bellingham.

The Athletic authoritatively confirmed: “Madrid are set to pay Dortmund in excess of €100million (£86m; $107m) in what will be one of the highest-value transfers in the history of both clubs.”

What’s left for the deal to be formally announced?

The report claims that only formalities remain for the deal to be signed and officially announced by both clubs.

Bellingham will undergo his medical at Real Madrid in the coming days.

The 19-year-old is expected to be the core of the Real Madrid midfield next season, as Luka Modric may exit this summer alongside Karim Benzema.

Bellingham was named Bundesliga Young Player of the Season, as BVB went on to lose the Bundesliga title on the final day of the season.

The youngster scored 14 goals and seven assists in 42 games this season.
